Mission/Giving Statement:  United Way of Central New Mexico’s Young Leaders Society Initiative is focused on assisting, inspiring and empowering youth (13-18) to transition into adulthood and develop as future leaders.

Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions: In 2012-13, Young Leaders Society Initiative Fund will focus on programs that assist, inspire and empower youth (12-18) by supporting educational accomplishments and needs, providing life skills and/or inspiring community involvement.

Type of Funding/ Funding Restrictions:  Agencies must meet the following criteria to apply for funding:

Offer a program to youth (12-18) that meets one or more of the areas listed above

Provide program services in one or more of the four counties of central New Mexico (Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance, Valencia)

Agencies may apply for the United Way of Central New Mexico Community Fund grant in the same funding cycle, but it must be for a different program

Attend grant application training the week of February 20th, complete an online application by March 30th and host a site visit during the month of April

As part of the online grant application, submit a current 501(c)3 letter, IRS Form 990, Board of Directors list and current audit (for agencies with more than $500,000 in annual revenue) or current financial statements signed by the Board Chair (for agencies under $500,000 in annual revenue)

If funded, biannual reports are required.

Mission/Giving Statement:  The purpose of United Way of Central New Mexico’s Women in Philanthropy Women’s Self-Sufficiency grants is to help create sustainable systemic change in our four-county community through grants that address a continuum of services and the most pressing issues for women.

Grantmaking Program Areas:  Education; Employment; Housing

Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:

In 2012-13, Women’s Self-Sufficiency grant funding will focus on programs that Enhance Women’s Employability by improving high school graduation rates and/or assisting with GED completion; providing job/skill training for women to secure full-time employment; or supporting transitional and/or permanent housing for women.
 

Type of Funding/ Funding Restrictions:  Agencies must meet the following criteria to apply for funding:

The Chase Foundation peruses this vision through positive community initiatives, resources, and the collaborative efforts of partner organizations.

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: The Foundation looks for organizations that engage in strategic planning in maximizing positive results in the primary focused areas. It gives priority to projects taht involve joint efforts of multiple agencies and wide community support and sustainability fo of projects demonstrated in the application guideline. The Foundation does not fund intersts or programs detrimental to the oil and gas industry. A list of additional restrictions available online.

Mission/Giving Statement: Clothes Helping Kids is an independent non-profit organization that supports programs for children and youth in New Mexico.

Grantmaking Program Areas: Children & Youth Development

Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:

Children & Youth Development: Supports a wide variety of programs that focus on children and youth and address educational needs, health issues, human services, environmental issues and/or traditional arts and culture.

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: Grants made to programs in Central and Northern New Mexico.

Mission/Giving Statement:  Founded in 2007, the Rio Rancho Community Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 with a mission to promote charitable activies and excellence in community affairs within the City of Rio Rancho, communities in Sandoval County and Albuquerque's Westside.

Grantmaking Program Areas:  Arts & Culture; Children & Youth; Education; Environmental;  Historic Preservation; Health; Human Services and Sustainability.

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions:  Grants awarded annually to certified 501(c)(3) through application process.

Mission/Giving Statement:  To save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.

Grantmaking Program Areas:  Women's Health/Breast Cancer Survivor's Support

Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:

Women's Health/Breast Cancer Survivor's Support:  Breast Health and/or Breast Cancer Screening, treatment or education projects and other programs to support breast cancer patients.

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions:  Specific to breast health and/or breast cancer.  Services must be provided in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia, Torrance, Los Alamos or Santa Fe counties.

Application Instructions:  Grant application available online.  Starts mid-December for the following fiscal year.  Grants are awarded early April and are from April of that year to March of the following year.

Mission/Giving Statement: The Corrales Harvest Festival's mission is to promote and develop the history and character of the village of Corrales through a yearly educational and recreational event that showcases the local agriculture, merchants, artwork, performing arts and historic culture. At the end of each Harvest Festival, Corrales Harvest Festival Inc. seeks to donate the proceeds from the festival to nonprofits in Corrales who strive to improve our quality of life.

Grantmaking Program Areas: The Festival supports organizations and activities meeting the agricultural, civic and social needs of the community of Corrales.

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: If you are a nonprofit or tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) and are based in Corrales, New Mexico, you may submit a grant application.
