Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:

Education: Improving directly or indirectly our children's ability to succeed in school and graduate.

Income:  Improving directly or indirectly our resident's abilities and capacity to financially support themselves and their families.

Health: Improving directly or indirectly our resident's ability to access needed health services and reduce unhealthy behaviors or risk factors.

Application Instructions: Contact the United Way of Eastern New Mexico.

Notes: Trained community volunteer panels review applications for funding and make recommendations for allocation levels. Panels base their recommendations on the efficacy of the applying programs, community needs and how each program addresses the aims of the United Way's program areas.

Mission/Giving Statement:  Be the steward of a voluntary process that identifies health and human service need and responsibly applies financial and human resources to impart those needs.

Grantmaking Program Areas:  Help Youth & Children Succeed; Increasing Self Sufficiency; Strengthening & Supporting Families; Human Services

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions:  Geographic region of interest is South Eddy County, New Mexico.

Mission/Giving Statement: The Cudd Foundation funds programs that benefit children and youth in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Taos, New Mexico; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Bend, Oregon.

Grantmaking Program Areas: Education; Arts & Culture; Social Services

Type of Funding/ Funding Restrictions: The Cudd Foundation does not fund: public institutions; political candidates/parties; and religious institutions/religious causes.

Mission/Giving Statement:  North Eddy County United Way fund conducts an annual community chest drive from the general public in North Eddy County, NM.  The net proceeds are allocated to member agencies.

Mission/Giving Statement: United Way of Otero County brings diverse people and resources together to address the most urgent issues that its community faces.

Mission/Giving Statement: The mission of UWCNM is to promote a culture of philanthropy and convene stakeholders to achieve measurable community improvements.  UWCNM's purpose is to make it easier for neighbors to give to help those most vulnerable.

Building Independence: Emergency services; literacy and learning programs

Supporting Education: Specialty schools and preschools; out-of-school time education support

Assisting People with Disabilities: Services to children and adults with disabilities

Sheltering Neighbors: Shelter for children and families; homelessness services and housing

Serving Our Seniors: Senior services, including legal assistance

Preventing Family Violence: Empowering victimes of violence and domestic violence shelters

Eliminating Hunger: Food assistance for individuals and families

Promoting Healthy Lives: Cancer support services; access to healthcare; therapy for children and families; mental health care

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: Request for funding may come from health and human services organizations in the central New Mexico area. Federations may not apply.

Mission/Giving Statement: To support nonprofits providing or supporting family planning, sex education, reproductive rights, and teen pregnancy prevention. The foundation also supports work on end of life issues, healthy sustainable farming and has become interested in health care reform.

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Misson/Giving Statement: To explicitly promote Bowlby's attachment theory as a guiding principle toward understanding and solving societal problems.

Grantmaking Program Areas: Attachment Theory

Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:

Attachment Theory: Supporting attachment theory- informed research, clinical application, and public policy.

Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: The Foundation will not provide grants to individuals or agencies with a fiscal sponsor.

Application Instructions: Brief LOIs (letters of intent) can be submitted to the Foundation via their web-based online application program. Full proposals are by invitation only.  To access the Foundation's application program, click on the ONLINE APPLICATION link contained in the menu along the left-hand side of their home page. Because the Foundation uses its online web-based application program to track the progress of grants, the Foundation expects grantees to have a high level of familiarity with (and access to) technology and the Internet.
